Currently a VAT description is mandatory when setting up a new supplier. Please make it mandatory that the VAT number is also mandatory or there is a drop down to select NO VAT number, it would save the person completing the VAT return for a large Multi Academy Trust as there are always missing VAT numbers where people have forgot to input them. The pop up would remind people to enter the VAT number.
Also when inputting credit card documents with VAT on, we have to manually input the VAT number in to userfield 3 on the CC document type. Please can this also be a mandatory field when inputting CC documents that have VAT on them. Again people forget this step and it adds a lot of work for the sole person checking and submitting the VAT returns.
