When emailing both pupils & contacts in the same email and using Parents Letter Salutation and Pupils Forename it works for the parents but not the pupils.
Parents = Dear Mr & Mrs Smith and John
Pupil = Dear John and
The AI Help Desk has said.
The issue you're experiencing occurs because merge fields are recipient-specific. When emailing pupils directly, parent/contact fields like "Parent Letter Salutation" aren't available, which is why the pupil's email shows "Dear and James" instead of the full salutation.
The Email Wizard is designed to send personalised emails using merge fields appropriate to each recipient type. Student fields work for pupils, whilst parent/contact fields work for contacts.
For your desired outcome ("Dear Mr & Mrs Smith and James"), you'll need to create separate emails:
One to contacts using parent merge fields
One to pupils using student merge fields with a manually typed salutation
Can this please be looked into, it would be really useful to be able to Email Pupils and their Contacts in the same email and have all contacts names/letter salutations show.
Thank you.
