You need to include the same functionally that you have in tracker and that is the ability to add custom items and include all the characteristic elements otherwise Gradebook is not going to work. The teacher needs to see these fields on the screen rather than go somewhere else. What is on offer is to limited. We need to see if they are a day or part-time boarder, if they are EAL, if they are only here for one year. EAL levels and more... where is student ID no unique identifier at all. Surely this is the most come field used today, with VLookups, PBi and Looker Studio

School Code would also be useful.
School ID is fiddly to use, given that it is a numeric in a text field. Downloading it from gradebooks into Excel ends up with strangely formatted contents - a step too far for most staff.
School Code would enable us to give faculty a more user-friendly front-facing ID to use.

We have added "school ID" in the characteristics which does equate to student id.
Regarding EAL, we currently are planning to add an integrated EAL option into Student Registers. Once complete we will then review integrating all built in Registers into gradebooks
